Many people, even in the Tampa Bay Area, ask where is Southern Hills Plantation?  Many have heard of this great community and may have friends who have moved here but still do not know where it is located.  SHP is located just far enough from Tampa and Orlando to escape the hustle and bustle but close enough to visit the city.  If you would like to come tour this amazingly appointed neighborhood,  CLICK HERE to read more about how I can help. 

Thanks to the Suncoast Parkway (N/S toll road), getting to the Tampa International Airport will take you 40-45 minutes.  Downtown Tampa is a 50-55 minute drive giving you easy access to the Straz Center (shows / plays), Amalie Arena (Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey, Concerts, much more), numerous museums, Tampa Riverwalk, and so much more.  If you are headed out on a flight, numerous airport shuttles service Hernando County including Southern Hills Plantation.

Heading to Orlando or the theme parks from SHP will take you around 1.5 hours.  The closest beach is Pine Island.  This is 30 minutes and is located at the western edge of Hernando County.  A more popular beach, Clearwater beach, is about an hour and 20 minutes.  A lesser know, but very beautiful beach is Honeymoon Island.  This is located in a state park and is around 70 minutes from Southern Hills.  If you go to this wonderful park, make sure you stop in Dunedin on your way back and grab an ice cream at the famous Strachan’s Ice Cream Shop!!! 

Southern Hills Plantation is 15 minutes from I-75 via SR 50 making heading north or south a breeze.
