When deciding on a lift kit for you Jeep Wrangler you need to have an idea of what you plan to do with your ride.  If it will be a rock crawler that is trailered everywhere you will definitely want a different lift kit who needs to drive their Jeep to work everyday.  Choosing the correct size and use can be a task that will require some research.  As for our Wrangler JL we had a couple of requirements of the lift, wheel, & tire upgrade.  First, we wanted to be able to run 35″ tires on our Jeep.  Next, we wanted to maintain a good / safe ride at highway speeds.  Lastly, we wanted a lift kit that can stand up to some moderate off-wheelin’ in the Jeep.  Taking all of this into account, researching lifts, and reading reviews we settled on the 2.5″ Rough Country Lift Kit for the Jeep Wrangler JL.

The lift kit clears the 35X12.5 BFG A/T KO2 tires that we selected just fine, with one exception.  We get just a little bit of rub on the front of the front tires when backing up and turning sharp.  It is a very minor rub and is only rubbing on the wheel well liner.  We have had no issues going forward, including on uneven terrain.  I will not tell you that the Jeep drives exactly the same at highway speeds as it did prior to this lift and larger tires but it is close.  I feel perfectly fine at highway speeds but I would say that it tends to wander, just slightly, more than with the factory set-up.  No big deal and something you must expect when going up in height and tire size.
