Best Tires for the Honda Pioneer 700 SXS / UTV
When it is time to put new replacement tires on your SXS or UTV, knowing what will fit and which tires has the features you are looking for can be a daunting task. When we were looking for new tires for our Honda Pioneer 700-4 Deluxe we did a lot of research. Reading reviews online, reading Facebook forums, and reading manufacturer’s spec about tires took a long time but I feel it was time well spent. One resource that I leaned on heavily was the “Honda Pioneer 700 Riders” Facebook page (especially Bob!). If you are not a member of this group on Facebook, CLICK HERE, to check them out… great group and a wealth of knowledge.
I use our Pioneer primarily for trail riding and hunting. Typical terrain ranges from sandy roads, muddy (with occasional clay) trails, and climbing over logs and through ditches. I was looking for a replacement UTV tire that offered three primary advantages… great ride, traction, and durability. Well, combining all of the research I did led me directly to the Tusk Terrabite tires. They have a truck style tread (not overly aggressive) and are an 8-ply radial that lends itself to excellent ride quality and great durability. Deep treads help prevent punctures when riding in the woods. These tires look great and offer a great value.
The next thing I set out to determining was what size tires I should get for my Honda Pioneer. I cannot tell you how many times I Google / asked… what is the maximum size tire I can put on my Honda Pioneer without a lift kit. I am not opposed to a lift kit on a SXS or UTV but, for my use, I feel like the stock height of the Honda Pioneer 700-4 is perfect for my use. Also, some people cannot afford to loose clearance due to parking in a garage or in a toy hauler. I also was trying to figure out what width I wanted to run. I quickly figured out 27″ tall tires are perfect for a non-lifted Honda Pioneer 700. There is no rubbing issue and they look great! I did consider going with 11″ width front and rear but many complain about difficult steering at low speed on the trail with 11″ wide front tires. I decided to go with 9″ width in the front and 11″ wide in the rear and am glad I did. They ride and look great!
Once I determined the size and brand tires I wanted to purchase, I started scouring the internet for the best price. I found sets of tires for the Honda Pioneer that came with two 27 X 9 – 12 and two 27 X 11 – 12 Tusk Terrabite tires. Prices were all over the place. I did find this set slightly cheaper than Amazon on two other sites but their shipping was pretty high. Amazon offered this set of tires at a great price and offered free shipping. The free shipping for the Tusk Terrabite tires gave them the edge on the total delivered price.
I spent a ton of time researching which replacement tires to put on my Honda Pioneer 700-4 Deluxe. I hope that you can benefit from my research and I can tell you that after using the Tusk Terrabite tires on our SXS, we could not be happier. Again, they offer great looks, ride, and appear very durable!!!  Enjoy!!!
