Adding a Rear LED Light Bar to the Honda Pioneer 700
Adding a rear facing LED light bar on the cage of the Honda Pioneer 700 is a great upgrade that adds tons of functionality and looks great too. We chose the 20″ Nilight LED Light Bar that comes with Off-Road Mounting Brackets that are perfect for connecting to the roll cage of the Honda Pioneer 700 SXS. It is the perfect length to fit under the OEM roof without hanging down too low. Check out the video above that shows just how well this light bar fits on the rear of the Honda Pioneer and how we wired it through the AUXBEAM. It is 126 watts of both spot and flood configured LEDs to give off tons of light.
This LED light bar comes with the wiring harness and a toggle switch. We opted to connect ours to our AUXBEAM 6 Gang Switch Panel (CLICK HERE to read about this awesome switch). The wiring harness is plenty long to zip tie to the cage and reach the battery and the desired switch location. We always use split loom when running the wiring on our SXS. The included off-road brackets are what really sold us on this light bar kit. They are aluminum and very strong. No rust, no worries!
Many people connect their rear (aka back-up) lights into the wiring of the Pioneer so that when you put your Honda in reverse the rear facing LED Light Bar comes on. This is a neat idea and works great for many people. We decided not to go that route and after using the light for a while I am glad we wired it to the AUXBEAM switch. Why?… We often trail ride with several SXS / UTV lined up in tight trails. If we all have to back up I want to be able to do so without totally blinding the crew behind me. I can simply tap the button on the AUXBEAM while backing up and tap it again when I am done. Another advantage I have found is loading the back or a trailer. Sometimes I leave the Pioneer running for ten or fifteen minutes, in neutral, while loading up a trailer or hitch hauler behind the buggy. I am able to leave the rear LED on this entire time without having to leave the buggy in reverse this whole time.
Like we previously said, this is a personal preference but I am very happy with it wired to our switch panel. Either way, we know that you will be thrilled with the performance of the 20″ Nilight LED Light Bar on your Honda Pioneer.
